All GENUINE ingredients begin as human grade and become pet food grade through processing or shipping standards set forth by USDA or FDA.

For example, our dried deboned chicken protein comes from the chicken after some parts are  removed for the human market. The remaining muscle meat is further removed from the bone and processed with innovative technology that allows GENUINE to formulate more chicken protein from only muscle meat than any other food.

GENUINE is naturally preserved with oil from rosemary and mixed tocopherols, a source of vitamin E and green tea extract.

These portion sizes should serve as general guidelines. Start out feeding the smallest portion size for your dog’s weight, and adjust as needed based on their breed, environment, temperament, and activity level.

A change in diet may result in digestive disturbances. Therefore, GENUINE dog food should be introduced over a period of 10 days according to the correct portion size for your dog. On the first day, substitute 20% of GENUINE dog food to your dog’s current diet, and gradually increase proportions.

To ensure a smooth transition to GENUINE, please follow the guidelines below:

Always be sure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water every day. Some dogs love GENUINE so much, we have noticed they will sort the mixed foods to eat it first and leave their old food—transitioning instantly with successful results. All dogs are unique, and will transition at their own pace.

Important note: When feeding GENUINE, the ultimate in nutrition, you must understand that portion control is as critical as the food. The formula is highly concentrated and nutrient dense, allowing you to feed less without worry. Please see the feeding guidelines for more information.

Some dog owners have shared that their dog will sort the GENUINE kibbles and refuse to eat their old diet. Those dogs have transitioned fine even without the slow transition.
